That is a line that Cheryl Strayed applies time and again, hoping for outcomes such as this. They may now look a little hopeless, but everyone must admit that even in this awesome frame, there is beauty.
Sometimes, we are blinking, and all those little simple beautiful things escape as we are searching for the bigger picture. It's about getting into the direction of beauty, whether it is an hour long trek during the day, stopping to watch a sunset, stopping to watch a blooming flower or stopping to watch painting beauty.
Be Active
Moving the body is perhaps one of the quickest, most certain remedies for boredom. Getting the body involved is even more effective and addictive. It does not matter if music is on and one dances, one lies in the sun and stretches, one jumps up and down ten times, the body wants to move.
Even a little brisk movement can get your heart rate elevated and indeed reduce endorphin levels, but there is that sweet feeling of life that is vibrant.
Snap Something Small
As a way to stay relevant and in touch with the more basic but beautiful aspects of everyday life, i have been making a promise to photograph at least one object that makes me smile in a day, every day until the end. It may be the embroidered tea bag you use, a bird sitting outside your window, or breakfast ripe fruit, all these little works snapped makes a direct acknowledgment in to your appreciation.
Take Five
Consider managing to keep in space for yourself for at least five minutes or may be more. It doesn't matter if its turning up for work 5 minutes early to soak in some rays, 30 minutes to read or write, 10 minutes to do some breathing exercises, or even 1 hour catching up with Willow and not getting interrupted, that P21T16 happiness and that break can provide a foundational joy that takes you much further on the road to permanent calmness.
Dress Up
This is not to say that you should wear a cocktail dress but some of you may have an obesity problem as you might stay wearing sweats for very long and this could be affecting your energy levels. Dressing up can presuppose putting up a nice colored top, or, wearing nice jewelry, or putting up shoes that elevate you off the ground by ten feet.
Tidy Something
We do not mean that one has to take the vessel and wash it scrubbing down your hands on a regular basis but that one takes some time out and tidies or clears out a little rubbish or dusts off a few books or even dispMarks the dead basil or something to that effect. There is a powerful positive mental philosophy behind respect for the place that one is in.
Go for Gratitude
It can be argumentative and may be repetitive but writing down what you are grateful for is a practice worth taking regardless of the situation. Just the act of writing down something that one is thankful for every single day ensures that the mind is always graced.
It does not have to be grandiose levels of gratitude but even just being thankful for a piece of cake when I am on a diet, talking to a friend when I am lonely, or simply petting my dog is something that is lovely in my day.
Indulge in the Edible
What I mean by afford is that everyday you should enjoy one morsel or more of something that casts a pleasure to your senses. Whether it's a glass of good wine, a certain portion of the best cheese, a bar of chocolate, or a cup of dead nettle tea sweetened with local honey, being able to savor one tiny edible or drinkable constant each day really helps ground our bliss in this day and age.
Perform an Act of Kindness
There is still something small that we can do every day, and even with social distancing there can be a commitment. In so doing, we can wear a smile and wave to our neighbors, leave a message to a friend, call a child, take a small gift to the frontlines contributing our little best to the health care workers and so on. All of these little actions bring good karma and help bring happiness.
